BREAKING NEWS: Boeing 737 Airplane crashes with 132 people on board

There were 132 people on board — 123 passengers and 9 crew — and the plane went down in a mountainous area near the city of Wuzhou, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Parts of the wreckage have been found. China Eastern said it will ground all of its Boeing 737-800 jets starting Tuesday.

An emergency telephone assistance line for a family was set up and the carrier expressed deep condolences to passengers and crew members on board.

China Eastern’s website, mobile app, and some of its social media platforms were turned to black and white in a sign of mourning.

The flight-tracking website shows that the Boeing 737-800 plane plunged after 2:20 p.m. local time from 29,100 feet over the next two minutes. It had 123 passengers and nine crew on board. State media said earlier there were 133 people on board.
